Remember …

“Remember our road trip to Grandma’s house?” I whispered softly, smiling and gently stroking her golden hair.  She gasped for air, gurgling loudly, as a fresh stream of glossy red flowed from her blood stained lips, swimming in perfect curves across her chin.
“Huh,” I laughed, “Remember me, you and Jack were arguing? Dad was in the front, driving, getting extremely wound up?” She opened her eyes wide, intently staring at me, the beautiful emerald green disappearing.
“Suddenly there was music! Mum had turned the radio on. And,” I giggled, “You began to dance, each move you made Jack and I following. Mum and dad were laughing and smiling and for those few minutes it was peaceful…” Her knuckles began to turn white, as she squeezed my knee.
“Go to that memory, Laurie.” I whispered, shushing her sobs, “Go there and be peaceful. And Jack, mum, dad and I will dance with you forever!” I bent down and kissed her face, “I love you.”  She shuddered, her grip loosening, as she slackened in my arms.  All the while her eyes glistened through the pitch black and never left me.  I got up from the drenched sheets of Laurie’s bed and twirled the dripping kitchen knife in my hand.  Slowly, I made my way across the hall.

“Jack?”
A door creaked in the distance.

“Remember our road trip to Grandma’s house?!” Dark whispers echoed throughout the hollow house.

Shhhh
It scares me! I really like this, I enjoy writing emotional pieces and trying to make an extreme description, where the readers feel as though they're truly within the piece. As though it's real! It's a challenge. I also enjoy writing psychological thrillers, something this short piece could become. I hope everyone enjoys it! And I'd love a few comments ^^
